Social Skills Program
Program Description and Design: A program that assists in the development of social skills and social problem-solving strategies, while also promoting self-esteem and self-advocacy in a supportive environment. The aim of the program is to encourage friendship, positive social/emotional behaviours, active listening, effective communication, and understanding of social norms.
These skills will be taught through group discussion, play-based activities, team building games, and role-playing, and children will benefit from working together with other children that have similarities to them
Who is the program designed for?: Children diagnosed with a Learning Disability and/or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) who may avoid social contact, behave immaturely, be shy or timid in groups, frequently fight with peers, display a lack of self-esteem and self-confidence, and enjoy meeting other children with LD and/or ADHD
Logistics of Participants: Group 1: Ages 7-10. Group 2: Ages 11-14. Maximum of 8 children per group.
Timeframe: 8 weeks, once per week for 1 hour and 15 minutes.

- Complete the intake form (located on the right side of this page) to ensure that this program will be the right fit for you and your child.
- If this program is right for you and your child, you will receive an application form from our program coordinator.
- You will be notified if there is space for your child in the upcoming session. If not, you will be placed on a waitlist for a future session.
*Acceptance into the group is based on match and suitability of the cohort. Enrolment is not guaranteed.

$100 for Members
$125 for Non-Members
